About

Welcome To Expat Voices!

Hello,

My name is Melwyn. I am an expat in Kuwait who has been here for nearly a decade. I originate from Mumbai, India.

Expat:An expatriate (in abbreviated form, expat) is a person temporarily or permanently residing in a country and culture other than that of the person’s upbringing.

Voices: “The human voice consists of sound made by a human being using the vocal folds for talkingsinginglaughingcrying, screaming.” We all arrived in this world crying out loud from our mother’s womb. As we grew up, we learnt to use our voice to express ourselves in various forms and languages. We all use language to communicate, to express ourselves, to get our ideas across, and to connect with the person to whom we are speaking.

Expat Voices - an insight into expat lives in Kuwait

This blog is about my transitional life here in Kuwait. An amalgamation of all the things that interest me, some rants or raves, some opinions maybe and all other intriguing stuff. A repository of local knowledge, traditions and culture of the Middle East region.

This blog will journalise my journey here and I hope few years down the line, when I look back at my first post, I may be far richer for the experience. Perhaps a life changing metamorphosis!

“Any transition serious enough to alter your definition of self will require not just small adjustments in your way of living and thinking but a full-on metamorphosis.” ~ Martha Beck

Do Enjoy the journey with Expat Voices!
